The Joffrey Ballet is thrilled to announce the world premiere of Bolro, named after the acclaimed orchestral piece by the composer Maurice Ravel to be performed by 15 members of the Company on February 12, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. Bolro marks the first live performance since The Joffreys opening of The Times Are Racing which opened at the Auditorium Theatre on February 12, 2020, exactly one year before Bolero will be livestreamed for free via the Joffreys YouTube channel, youtube.com/TheJoffreyBallet. Uniquely, the work showcases the alternate creative talents of two current longtime male Joffrey dancers; specifically, Bolro is choreographed by Yoshihisa Arai in his third work for the Company, and the work features costume design by Temur Suluashvili who has collaborated with Arai on past efforts.
