Beneath The Willow Tree, written by Isis Elizabeth and directed by Aaron Reese Boseman, is a world premiere play set in the Louisiana Bayou, focusing on the dysfunctional Bordeaux family, consisting of three Black women. As Willow Bordeaux returns home from NYU with a new love interest, long-buried family secrets and traumas emerge, prompting a journey towards healing and acceptance. The cast includes Ash as Ree, Sierra Coachman as Willow, Monique Marshaun as Gloria, and Dylan Rogers as Danté/Moses, alongside Jeff Award nominee Yahdina U-Deen as Betty Bordeaux. This production marks the 10th anniversary of Pulse Theatre Chicago, celebrating its commitment to innovative storytelling and cultural representation.
