(re)discover Theatre Welcomes New Co-Artistic Director Ann Kreitman

(re)discover theatre has announced the incoming of our new Co-Artistic Director Ann Kreitman. Matt Wills the founding Artistic Director and current Artistic Director of Development is moving to New York to pursue opportunities on the east coast.

Janet Howe, current Artistic Director of Production, will be staying on board as Co- Artistic Director with Ann Kreitman.

The theatre is excited for the opportunities ahead for Matt and are thrilled to have Ann in this position.

Wills says, "Janet Howe and Ann Kreitman are undoubtedly going to continue to push (re)discover theatre to new heights. This company could not be held in more capable and loving hands. Janet has been my unwavering co-artistic director the past few years and I look forward to collaborating with her in the years to come. Ann is a force to be reckoned with and I look forward to the continued new and decisive work she creates."

Ann Kreitman is a Chicago-based director and deviser who creates work driven by the necessity for an active audience. Ann has been an Ensemble Member with (re)discover since moving to Chicago in 2013. Her work with the company includes directing and devising Eugenia as a part of FOR ONE, directing Fifty Shades of Shakespeare in 2015, and directing and devising HOME for Chicago Fringe Festival.

"I am incredibly thrilled to step into the role of Co-Artistic Director with (re)discover theatre as the company commits to being the home of immersive and site-specific new work for Chicago." Kreitman says, "As a deviser in Chicago, I see a real need for development programs focused on collaboratively-made work, and in my new role of Co-Artistic Director, I will be dedicating myself to this initiative. Matt Wills helped build (re)discover from the ground up so he is certainly leaving some big shoes to fill, but I am honored to partner with Janet Howe to lead the (re)discover team."

The whole (re)discover ensemble is thrilled to welcome Ann into her new role and wishes Matt well with his future in New York. (re)discover theatre is redefining theatre for emerging audiences by blending a variety of artistic forms, embracing the visceral energy of live performance, and inviting audiences to be an integral part of the theatrical experience.
