pH Productions presents the fifth annual Chicago Zombie Pub Crawl Saturday, April 28 from 2 – 9 p.m. The hugely popular event once again takes place in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood. Zombies begin registration at 1:30 p.m. at the starting location, pH Comedy Theater located at 1515 W. Berwyn.
Once registered, pH Productions then sends groups of zombies down Clark Street, much to the delight and horror of unsuspecting people. Zombies are encouraged to stop at the many participating bars and enjoy specially-priced cocktails and themed drinks. Registration is currently available at www.chicagozombiepubcrawl.com and the $25 ticket price includes an event cup and official Chicago Zombie Pub Crawl T-Shirt. The event is an annual fundraiser for pH Productions, the not-for-profit Chicago comedy theater company.
Since the first Chicago Zombie Pub Crawl (CZPC) in 2008, this event has become one of Chicago's most highly anticipated spring events. CZPC is based on other successful Zombie Pub Crawls around the United States, specifically Minneapolis. Former pH company member, Alaina Hoffman, formally of Minneapolis, thought it would be an amazing event for Chicago. She pitched the idea to Co-Artistic Director Jason Geis, and the two were off and running. The first CZPC had more than 400 zombies roaming in and out of the most popular bars in Andersonville and the second crawl in 2009 nearly doubled in size. 2012 promises to generate even more zombies as the company is adding more stops on the roster. Mary's Attic,The Sofo Tap, The Call, Farraguts Simon's Tavern and @mosphere are the event's Bar Sponsors. For the current list of participating bars click here. (This list will continue to be updated as we near the event.) New this year is the addition of some of Chicago's food trucks who will be feeding the Zombies with special from Duck N Roll, Chubby Wieners, Bridgeport Pasty and Sweet Ride.
