Writers' Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma, announces the second and final extension of its acclaimed musical A Little Night Music, music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, book by Hugh Wheeler, directed by William Brown. The production, originally scheduled to run May 1 through July 8, 2012, will now run through August 12, 2012 at Writers' Theatre, 325 Tudor Court in Glencoe.

Set in turn of the century Sweden, A Little Night Music is a sumptuous musical celebration of love. Desirée Armfeldt has always captured the hearts of men. When both of her lovers-and their wives-show up for a weekend in the country, the boundless possibilities of an old romance and newly awakened passions bring endless surprises. Full of quick wit and evoking the harmonious rhythm of waltz time, Tony Award-winner Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music is the must-see musical of the season!

The cast features Shannon Cochran as Desiree Armfeldt, Tony Award winner Deanna Dunagan as Madame Armfeldt and Jonathan Weir as Fredrik Egerman. The cast includes Brianna Borger (Petra), Shannon Corey (Fredrika Armfeldt), Brandon Dahlquist (Count Malcolm), J. Michael Finley (Frid), Kristen French (Anne Egerman), Cory Goodrich (Malla), Royen Kent (Henrik Egerman) and Tiffany Scott (Countess Malcolm). The original cast, with the exception of Brandon Dahlquist and Music Director/piano Valerie Maze will appear through August 12. Replacements for Maze and Dahlquist for the final three week extension are TBA.

The designers are Kevin Depinet (scenic), Jesse Klug (lighting), Rachel Anne Healy (costumes), Andrew Hansen (sound) and Nick Heggestad (properties). David Castellanos is the stage manager.
