Williams Street Repertory has announced its 2016 production of "Death of a Salesman" received a BroadwayWorld Chicago Award yesterday, January 24, 2017.
WSR's production of Arthur Miller's American stage classic closed out the 2015-2016 season with a run that earned glowing reviews from patrons and the community alike.
Shannon McHugh Mayhall received the 2017 BroadwayWorld Chicago Award for Best Actress in a Play (Resident Equity) for her role as Linda Loman. Reviewer Jeff Cook of the "Northwest Herald" described her performance as one that "inhabits the character with love, dignity and a restrained rage that is breathtaking in its subtlety and intimacy."
Mayhall, who works as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant at Huntley School District 158, has also appeared in WSR's productions of "Hands on a Hardbody," "Barefoot in the Park" and "Steel Magnolias." Mayhall's other credits include "God of Carnage" and "The Man Who Came to Dinner" at McHenry County College, "Always...Patsy Cline" and "Chicago" at the Woodstock Opera House and "A Little Night Music" at Elgin Community College.
