Raue Center for the Arts in association with Williams Street Repertory has announced that it will be mounting the Chicago Premiere of " SUDS: The Rockin' 60's Musical " This is to be the first of three Chicago premieres Raue Center's in-house company will be putting up in its 2014/2015 Season. SUDS will run through July, opening on July 11. Complete run dates are as follows: July 11, 12, 18, 19, 25 and 26 at 8p and July 13, 19 and 27 at 3p.

The story of SUDS was created by TV and stage veterans Melinda Glib, Steve Gunderson, and Bryan Scott. Together they built the musical comedy around over 50 hits from the 60's; songs include, but are in no means limited to "Where the Boys Are," "These Boots Are Made for Walkin," "Please Mr. Postman," "Secret Agent Man" and "Respect." All to be performed by a live band!

" Welcome to Williams Street Rep's fourth season at Raue Center! What a great season lies ahead of us. Six wonderful, contemporary stories will unfold on our stages. It all starts with the fantastic musical SUDS. SUDS showcases not only Broadway talent but also our own award-winning, home-grown talent. Come out and give professional theater a chance at this great main street theater in Downtown Crystal Lake. You will be glad you did. It's a wonderfully entertaining show!" Richard Kuranda, Founding Artistic Director of Williams Street Repertory and Executive Director of Raue Center For The Arts

The musical, set in a 1960's Laundromat, has delighted audiences from New York to San Diego. It's filled to the brim with popular 60's tunes. The music acts as the foundation upon which the story, based around a young woman named Cindy, is built. Cindy finds her life is forever changed when her two guardian angels appear to teach her about boys, true love, and surviving in this not-so-down-comfortable world. SUDS: The Rockin' 60's Musical promises to be fast-paced, family-friendly, and a whole lotta fun. SUDS promises wholesome family fun, reminding many adults of a time gone by, and kids of listening to the "oldies" station while seeing the comical misadventures of Cindy and her pair of misfit guardian angels.

Williams Street Repertoy's production of SUDS will directed by the BroadwayWorld Chicago award-winning director Mark R. Mahallak under the artistic direction of Richard Kuranda and starring Amanda Flahive, Amy Ferraro*, Kim Schriver*, and Christopher Davis. The production team will be led by Michael Vandercook, with scenic design by William Schmiel whose most recent projects included the set design of Barefoot in the Park (produced by WSR in May 2014). Caitlin Quinn, production stage manager, and Linda Madonia, musical director. Lighting design will be done by Steven Spera, winner of the award Best Lighting Design from BroadwayWorld for WSR's production of Sweeny Todd in the 2013/2014 Season at Raue Center for the Arts. Daniel Carlyon will be in charge of sound design.

This marks the first year Williams Street Repertory will be presenting a musical in the summer season. The theatre company has recently been accepted to the League of Chicago Theatres.
