GET LIT(erary) is a monthly reading series based around selected themed classic and contemporary literary works. Each month, a group of readers are selected from a pool of Williams Street Repertory actors and supporters to read aloud from work by a wide array of distinguished authors. Past authors have included Orson Wells, Oscar Wilde, Philip K. Dick, Rudyard Kipling and many more.
GET LIT(erary) is a program developed and managed by Williams Street Repertory. The program takes place every second Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. and is hosted at Le Petit Marche (19 N. Williams Street). GET LIT(erary) is curated by Dawn Gerth under contract from Williams Street Repertory.
"I so enjoy researching different literary genres to find works that will lend themselves to the GET LIT(erary) format," says program curator Dawn Gerth, "The fun continues as I adapt and cast the readings, hear how our talented readers interpret them and finally see the audiences' enjoyment."
GET LIT(erary) readings are free to attend! Food and beverage are available for purchase. Come out for GET LIT(erary) readings every second Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. to feed your mind and body, raise a glass and GET LIT!
