Victory Gardens Hosts Town Hall: Reunite!

Victory Gardens Theater presents Town Hall: Reunite!, an event where Chicago artists will respond to the current immigration policies of the United States. Town Hall: Reunite! will be held at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue on Wednesday, July 18 at 7 pm. This event is FREE and open to the public.

Join artists and community partners as they perform original poetry, music, dance and performance pieces to give more visibility and voice to our citizens, residents, migrants and refugees who are affected by these policies.

"As our recent immigration policies continue to divide families and communities across the nation, we are hosting an evening of performance and dialogue to give more visibility and voice to those who are affected," said Artistic Director Chay Yew. "With Town Hall: Reunite!, Victory Gardens continues our commitment to providing public space for artists and community partners to respond and work together in the hopes of ensuring the United States continues to be a safe haven for everyone."

Town Hall: Reunite! participants include After School Matters - HiDef Dance Ensemble, Growing Concerns Poetry Collective, Luis Alfaro, Melissa Castro Almandina, Kaina Castillo, Bilal Dardai, Keren Díaz de Léon, Isaac Gomez, Arti Ishak, Ginger Lane, Rohina Malik, Victor Musoni, Lily Padilla, Victoria Peralta, Ireon Roach, Karen Rodriguez and more to be announced.

The Town Hall Series is a part of Victory Gardens' Public Programs Series, connecting the theater to the world beyond the stage and rehearsal room. Victory Gardens' Public Programs bridge ideas, provoke dialogue, and deepen the relationship between audiences and productions. Past Town Hall events include: #NeverAgainChicago (2018), Casting Notice (2016), The Color Game (2016), Directors Town Hall (2016) and We Must Breath (2014).

Located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, Victory Gardens Biograph Theater includes the Za?ek-McVay Theater, a state-of-the-art 259-seat mainstage and the 109-seat studio theater on the second floor, named the Richard Christiansen Theater.

Victory Gardens Ensemble Playwrights include Luis Alfaro, Philip Dawkins, Marcus Gardley, Ike Holter, Samuel D. Hunter, Naomi Iizuka, Tanya Saracho and Laura Schellhardt. Each playwright has a seven-year residency at Victory Gardens Theater.
