Vicki Quade, co-creator of the hit comedy, Late Nite Catechism, brings to life a new comedy, BIBLE BINGO: AN ACT OF CHARITY...IN TWO ACTS, opening for four weeks only, starting Nov. 1 at the Royal George Theatre, Chicago.
Then, her latest holiday show, CHRISTMAS BINGO: IT'S A HO-HO-HOLY NIGHT, opens for six weeks only, starting Nov. 29. BIBLE BINGO is a comedy about the Catholic culture of fundraising and bingo, featuring a new character, Mrs. Mary Margaret O'Brien, a former nun who now heads a fictitious archdiocese fundraising department. The role will be shared by three performers: Vicki Quade (who has been touring with the show for the past two years), Kathleen Puls Andrade, and Michelle Thompson. In this interactive comedy, the parish needs money and Mrs. O'Brien is ready to help! Audience members actually play bingo, win prizes, AND learn funny stories based on the Bible and the impact of religion on our society. After BIBLE BINGO traveled to the New Orleans area, Sr. M. Michaeline, pastor coordinator for Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish raved: "Your performance was great. You never missed a beat - picking up on audience comments. You kept the show moving and with such a variety of material. Many people in the audience commented on how you brought back memories of their childhood days in Catholic school. In short: great performance, great delivery, great material."
With that sort of response, it was natural for Quade to create a new holiday show: CHRISTMAS BINGO: IT'S A HO-HO-HOLY NIGHT.
This interactive comedy brings together two of the best things about being Catholic: Christmas and Bingo. Audience members actually play bingo and win prizes, while answering questions about Christmas traditions, the origin of St. Nick, where do candy canes come from, miracles in the Bible . . . and the funniest true and false quiz about St. Nick and Jesus you'll ever find. CHRISTMAS BINGO will run six weeks only through the holiday season, starting November 29, at the Royal George Theatre, Chicago. Performances will be held on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 3 p.m. You don't have to be Catholic to enjoy these shows. But it pays to love bingo!Videos
