Chicago's newest theater space is opening its doors on New Year's Eve for an exciting evening of entertainment featuring cabaret, comedy, magic, burlesque and jazz. Uptown Underground, 4707 N. Broadway, opens to the public on December 31, 2014 for the New Year's Eve Hullabaloo featuring The Kiss Kiss Cabaret and others. Uptown Underground will host performances Jan. 1, 2 and 3 at 8 p.m. and feature a special public Grand Opening "Bees Knees Bazaar" Sunday, Jan. 4. Jenn A. Kincaid and Chris O. Biddle are the co-owners of the Uptown Underground as well as co-producers of The Kiss Kiss Cabaret. For more information and complete schedule of events visit www.UptownUnderground.net.

Located below the Broadway Ave. street level, the Uptown Underground is a 7,000 square foot, retro-themed adult entertainment venue with a 150-seat Moon Room Mainstage and a 50-seat Starlight Lounge. Uptown Underground features a full service bar, vintage 1920s arcade games and other jazz-age treats for patrons. Renovations of the 1926 building, the former location of The Equator Club, cost approximately $350,000. Kincaid and Biddle partnered with Thaddeus Wong of @Properties and owner of the building. Wong, Kincaid and Biddle worked with architect Jean DuFresne of SPACE Architects + Planners and scenic designer Kevin Depinet of XL Scenic to create the look and feel of the venue.

"We have been working toward this goal since Chris and I started 'The Kiss Kiss Cabaret' back in 2009," said Kincaid. "It far surpasses our expectations both in the look of the space and the quality of the performance. The cabaret community is really showing its support for this new venue because of its uniqueness - it's really a one-stop-shop for lovers of musical cabaret, burlesque, magic, and other vintage entertainment stylings."

On New Year's Eve, Dec. 31, the Uptown Underground opens its doors at 9 p.m. for a cocktail hour. The evening features an extended two-hour performance by The Kiss Kiss Cabaret beginning at 10 p.m., a champagne toast at Midnight and a dance party until 2 a.m. Tickets are $100 or $125 for VIP seating and open-bar wristband. Early bird rates are available through Dec. 15. For tickets visit www.KissKissCabaret.com or www.UptownUnderground.net.

Uptown Underground's opening week continues with four nights of special performances Jan. 1, 2 and 3 at 8 p.m. and the "Bees Knees Bazzar" public open house on Jan. 4 at 7 p.m. Featured performers the first week include The Chicago Magic Lounge, PUR | The Company, The Kiss Kiss Cabaret, Chicago Cabaret Professionals, drag by Muffy Fishbasket & Vallery Dolls and mentalist, Eric Lindberg. For the "Bazaar" on Jan. 4, doors open at 7 p.m. and patrons can visit both the Moon Room Mainstage and Starlight Lounge to tour the space, sample the variety of performance offerings on both stages, toy with the vintage arcade amusements and drink from the speakeasy cocktail menu. Tickets for these events are available in December.

Uptown Underground is the new home of The Kiss Kiss Cabaret and the Chicago residence for PUR | The Company, an Indianapolis-based burlesque troupe known for its serious choreography with Vegas polish. The Kiss Kiss Cabaret features burlesque strip teases, bawdy comedy and inventive variety performers including jugglers, musicians and magicians. Every performance features a rotating cast of performers.

Uptown Underground opens its doors to the public on New Years Eve, Dec. 31 and continues with special performances Jan. 1, 2, 3 and 4. Regular Uptown Underground hours are 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Performances and cover charges vary, however, The Kiss Kiss Cabaret performs Fridays and Saturdays at 10 p.m. PUR| The Company performs the first Saturday of the month at 8 p.m. For complete schedule of events and ticket prices visit www.UptownUnderground.net.
