UP Comedy Club announces the addition of its new revue The Second City's Incomplete Guide to Everything to its winter lineup. The Second City's Incomplete Guide to Everything features some of the best material from The Second City's archives. Incomplete Guide to Everything is directed by Jeff Award winning director Ryan Bernier with musical direction by Vinne Pillarella. Incomplete Guide to Everything begins tonight, February 13, 2014 and runs at the UP Comedy Club, located at 230 W. North Ave 3rd Floor of Piper's Alley Chicago, IL 60614.
From the great books to the worst presidents, The Second City has spent half a century laughing in the face of our past, present and future. And now it's all in one show...sort of. The cast of The Second City's Incomplete Guide to Everything includes Second City veterans Sayjal Joshi, Shad Kunkle, Beth Melewski, Tim Stoltenberg, Daniel Strauss and Niccole Thurman.
About the Cast
Sayjal Joshi is a Second City veteran and is thrilled to be able to answer, "How do you plan on using that?" in regards to her UNC Greensboro theater degree. Working for the Second City has also helped ease her parents' worries about where her grocery money comes from. Credits include The Second City Touring Company, iO, ComedySportz, Laugh Out Loud Theater, two-person sketch wranglers, Jin & Joshi, and the Asian sketch sensation, Stir-Friday Night!
Shad Kunkle has been touring and performing with The Second City for the last five years. He has been improvising in Chicago for over nine years and would like to thank iO Chicago and ComedySportz Chicago for giving him the opportunity to perform and learn the craft of improvisation. He currently performs with Carl and The Passions and the Armando Diaz Experience. He is a proud coach of Chicago's best Harold team, The Reckoning, at iO Chicago.
Beth Melewski has been a member of The Second City family for almost ten years. She wrote and performed in the Jeff award nominated Second City shows, The Absolute Best Friggin' Time of Your Life in addition to the Jeff Award winning The Second City Guide to the Opera and Studs Terkel's Not Working. TV credits include one season as the host of Chicago Cash Cab for The Discovery Channel, and Arrested Development. She also has a web series called "Beth, From Chicago" on Archlive.tv.
Tim Stoltenberg currently performs in UP Comedy Club with Improv All-Stars and previously in What The Tour Guide Didn't Tell You. Tim is an alumnus of Second City's Touring Company and understudy for the e.t.c. and Mainstage. His other past Second City credits include; Girls' Night Out, Four Girls and A Guy, and productions at The ALLIANCE THEATRE in Atlanta, on Norwegian Cruise Lines, and The Second City 2: Less Pride, More Pork at The Playhouse in the Park in Cincinnati. Tim also teaches at Second City. Tim performs at iO Theatre with The Improvised Shakespeare Company, Deep Schwa, and Summer Nights. Before moving to Chicago Tim worked in Atlanta, Georgia as Improv Director for Dad's Garage Theatre where he also taught and performed improv. Tim has been seen in various National commercials for AT&T, Walgreens and commercials for lotteries, banks, and the military as well as roles in film and TV.
Daniel Strauss returns to The Second City in The Second City's Incomplete Guide to Everything! Hailing originally from Washington DC and a graduate of the University of Michigan (BFA, Theater Performance), Daniel is an alumni of the Second City's Touring Company and performed with Second City at sea as a cast member aboard the Norwegian Jewel. Other recent credits include The Last Days of Judas Iscariot at Stage 773 and Team Starkid's Airport for Birds and 1Night 2Last 3Ever.
Niccole Thurman is back at The Second City. Past projects with The Second City include What The Tour Guide Didn't Tell You: A Chicago Revue, in the UP Comedy Club, America: All Better! at Woolly Mammoth Theatre (DC), as well as multiple performances on the e.t.c. and Mainstage as an understudy. In addition to The Second City, she has performed with Eclipse Theatre, Strawdog Theatre Company, Collaboraction, and About Face Theatre in Chicago. She is also a co-host for the TV show Local USA, airing nationally on PBS. She is a graduate of the University of Kansas.
