Two Fantastic Summer Camps for Youth in Oak Park

This summer, students ages 9 – 14 have two fun and educational summer opportunities at Village Players in Oak Park.
 
The first session is Village Players' annual summer camp teaching essential theatre skills and culminating in a production of Seussical Jr. In this Broadway musical, Ragtime creators Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Mayzie the Bird, and all the Whos of Whoville! The score contains a Seussian Gumbo of musical styles ranging from Latin to Gospel and back again! So let your imaginations run wild with 'All the Thinks You Can think!" This camps runs Monday – Friday, 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM,  June 16 - July 18, 2008. Performances run July 18 – 20. The cost for the five weeks is $795.  Class size is limited to 36.
 
The second session is Village Players' Digital Film Camp. Participants will produce their own short (3-10 min.) video project, learning all aspects of the format. This intensive class covers the fundamentals of digital video camera operation (both interiors and exteriors) including camera, editing, and post-production. They will learn using to edit using 'Final Cut Express.'  The film camp runs July 21 - August 8, 2008, Monday -Friday 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The cost for the three weeks is $600. Class size is limited to 15.
 
*There is a 20% discount off the second class for taking a child taking both camps or a second child in the same family taking a summer camp class.*
