Highland Park Players has announced the cast and production team for their 30th anniversary production of The Pajama Game directed by three time Jeff Award winner, Dominic Missimi.
The production stars Trevor Vanderzee as Sid (recently in Theo Ubique's The Most Happy Fella) and Hannah Rose (of Highland Park) as Babe. Also in the production are Mark Anderson as Hines, Tony Calzaretta as Prez, Nicole Frydman as Gladys, Denise Tamburrino as Mae, Richard Salon as Hasler, Naomi Hirschman as Mabel, Justine Klein as Poopsie and Jacob Cohen as Max.
The rest of the cast features Anna Marie Abbate. Alexis Armstrong, Sean Blitzstein, Nicolette DeGuia, Jamie Davidson, Rebecca Fortier, Heidi Hansfield, Jeri Hart, Hayley Himmelman, Chris Johnson, Artem Lazarev, Sarah Makkawy, Marci Medwed, Jill Schwartz, Scott Schwartz, Annie Snow and Marnie Warner.
The production team includes Board President Bradley A. Set in the 1950s, The Pajama Game concerns the battle between the Sleep Tite Pajama Factory management and employees over a 7 1/2 cent raise. Amidst the growing conflict, sparks fly between the new superintendent, Sid Sorokin, and the leader of the Union Grievance Committee, Babe Williams, but their romance is quickly stifled when the union's call for a raise is refused, forcing Sid and Babe to be on opposing sides of the clash. As the labour dispute continues to escalate, jealousy, love, sex and politics all collide in the chaos of the Sleep Tite factory.
