Transcendent Presents LIMELIGHT Variety Show, 10/11

LIMELIGHT is a highly entertaining, monthly reoccurring VARIETY SHOW held on the second Saturday of every month! LIMELIGHT is currently hosted by the delightfully ostentatious Maureen SanDiego. Each show features a comedian headliner, music in some capacity, ridiculousness, A Russian Roulette Karaoke-PRE-SHOW and other acts you'll marvel at.

Past acts in the variety show have included performances by: Headlining Comedian's Ian Abramson, Tim Barnes and Martin Morrow; Musician's Antony and the Tramps; singer/songwriters such as Liz Chidester, Kelsie Hogue, and Cassandra Henwood; as well as hoop dancing, Chinese-pole acts, poetry, puppets, burlesque (including acts by Marie Curieosity), and more!

For something out of the usual, with promises of laughter, come see LIMELIGHT every second Saturday of every month!

Each show has Russian Roulette Karaoke before the show beginning at 8:30pm. Variety show begins at 9pm. $5 admission at the door. Cash only. There will also be 'libations by donation' available.

TRANSCENDENT is a professional theatre company dedicated to creating works that are relevant, inventive, and most of all- entertaining. In our developing process, we strive to work as a collaborative, non-traditional ensemble. We aim to reach audiences from all walks of life, and continue to push boundaries with how we present theatre to the community.

Transcendent Ensemble Theatre Company was founded by Lindsay Bartlette Allen in New York in 2013. Allen's vision for starting this company was to build a community of theatre artists that work with the same rehearsal/development process that she learned from her education at The University of Alabama at Birmingham under her training in experimental/ devised theater and ensemble building. As the company is continuing to expand, Jessica Walston Alldredge has been named Education Director. Alldredge is also a Theatre UAB alum.
