TimeLine Theatre Stages Arthur Miller's THE PRICE This Fall

Celebrating the 100th birthday of one of America's most prominent and popular 20th Century playwrights, TimeLine Theatre Company launches its 2015-16 season with a revival of Arthur Miller's THE PRICE, a classic about the legacy of the past and the price of life's choices.

The production features Chicago acting legend Mike Nussbaum in the central role of a 90-year-old antique dealer, joined by Kymberly Mellen, Roderick Peeples and Bret Tuomi in the four-person cast. Nussbaum and Tuomi return to TimeLine's stage after appearing in last season's THE APPLE FAMILY PLAYS and 2012's ENRON, respectively. Mellen, a veteran of acclaimed performances at Writers Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theater and others before moving away from the city for several years, marks her return to the Chicago stage. TimeLine Associate Artist Terry Hamilton replaces Tuomi beginning October 21.

In a New York brownstone marked for demolition, two estranged brothers meet to sort through and sell their late father's belongings-a pile of relics and old furniture buried by a lifetime's worth of family baggage. Acclaimed as "one of the most engrossing and entertaining plays that Miller has ever written" (The New York Times), THE PRICE is a poignant, intimate, and often heart-wrenching look at the ways we are liberated or trapped by those we love.

THE PRICE is directed by TimeLine Associate Artist Louis Contey (THE APPLE FAMILY PLAYS) and runs August 27 through November 22, 2015 (previews tonight, August 18 through August 26) at TimeLine Theatre, 615 W. Wellington Ave., Chicago.
