The Dolphin Show announced that tickets are on sale to the general public for its 77th Annual production Hello, Dolly! on Monday, Nov. 26.
Directed by Isabel Perry and produced by Casey Watson, Austin Manross and Andrew Harlan, the Northwestern University Dolphin Show's production of Hello, Dolly! will premiere in Northwestern University's Cahn Auditorium on Jan. 25, running through Feb. 2.
On the heels of a hit Broadway revival and with a lush score by Jerry Herman, Hello, Dolly! tells the story of the effervescent socialite turned matchmaker Dolly Levi. From the streets of Yonkers to the lights of Broadway, from jubilant parades to lavish dining, from schemes and tricks to happy accidents, Dolly is full of shine and full of sparkle; it's a celebration of love and a tale of hope and home.
"Dolly is an absolute icon, and it has been so much fun to put our own spin on this classic musical," said Casey Watson, an executive producer of the Dolphin Show. "We could not make a production of this scale happen without the passion, talent, and dedication of the 150 plus students working on the Dolphin Show this year. We cannot wait to share our joy and excitement with the Chicagoland area this winter!"
Now entering its 77th year on Northwestern's campus, the Dolphin Show is a non-profit student theatre organization that annually produces the nation's largest student-ruun musical. It celebrates the diverse talents of the Northwestern undergraduate community by providing opportunities to learn and excel in all artistic and administrative fields. The Dolphin Show presents a professional-caliber production while involving the community through outreach.
