Three Cat Productions Announces 2018/19 Season Of New Work  ImageThree Cat Productions has announced their sixth season of world premieres at their home at the Berger Park Coach House Theater in Edgewater.

The season kicks off this fall with the world premiere of Dolores Diaz's, Man of the People. Directed by Jason Paul Smith, Three Cat Productions Artistic Director, Man of the People considers the incredible rise and fall of John Romulus Brinkley, an American "doctor" who grew to notoriety for selling a boost for male virility in the 1920s known as the "goat gland cure."

Three Cat Productions celebrates the holiday season with the return of last years hit show, The Holiday Radio Show: 1943. With an all New Group of playwrights including Gabriella Bonamici, Dan Jackson, André Richardson Hogan II, Hope Hommersand, Hallie Palladino, and Rolfe Sick, The Holiday Radio Show: 1943 takes us back to December 1943 featuring celebrated holiday music in three part harmony and classic stories by Louisa May Alcott, Clement Clarke Moore, Langston Hughes, and more.

The winter brings the world premiere of Wendy Schmidt's play directed by Jeri Frederickson. Maker of Worlds is a one-person play that asks whether there's any good left in the world, and who gets to say.

The season concludes with in the spring with Heart of Fairy a fantastical new play by Laura Scruggs. Directed by Jason Paul Smith, Three Cat Productions Artistic Director, Heart of Fairy explores the magical word of fairy, Fairytasma. Will finding her handsome prince allow her to live happily every after? Only the Fairy Godmother knows what lies inside the "Heart of Fairy".

Coming in January, Three Cat Productions continues its commitment to Chicago based playwrights with the seventh annual Chicago New Work Festival. Helmed by Wendy Schmidt, Literary Manager, the Chicago New Work Festival will feature workshops of eight plays over a four week period.

In May, Three Cat Productions presents the seventh annual SOLO Chicago Festival. SOLO Chicago is a festival of full length 45min to 90 min solo performance pieces written by Chicago (or Chicago area) performers.

Man of the People considers the incredible rise and fall of John Romulus Brinkley, an American "doctor" who grew to notoriety for selling a boost for male virility in the 1920s known as the "goat gland cure." Bolstered to fame through his uncanny knack for radio, men sang Brinkley's praises and women credited their children to his intervention, but one man - Dr. Morris Fishbein of the American Medical Association - dedicated his life to seeing Brinkley burn. A tale of two giants going head to head as a populace decides, Man of the People is a true story about what happens when most everyone believes they're right.

Featuring stories by Langston Hughes, Louisa May Alcott and more. Join us for drama, wacky humor, adorable actors, and some truly transcendent three-part harmony that will chase away your "I Can't Believe It's the Holidays Again" blues.

Three Cat Productions proudly presents the Seventh Annual Chicago New Work Festival. Developed with the goal of showcasing Chicago playwrights, fostering relationships between playwrights and directors, and bringing new work programming to the neighborhood, the Chicago New Work Festival performances run from January 12 to February 2, 2018 at the Berger Park Coach House Theater.
