The Theatre de la Jeune Lune in Minneapolis, Minnesota will being going dark starting the weekend of July 1st. The theater reportedly has a 1 million dollar debt and selling the theater off will help pay it off.

Artistic director Dominique Serrand founded the theater in 1978 and traveled between the United States and France doing productions before settling on the current location in Minneapolis in 1992. Ms. Serrand stated, "After much soul searching and extensive fund-raising and debt management efforts, we have determined it to be the only prudent and fiscally responsible choice".

The theater won the 2005 Tony Award for best regional playhouse. For more information please visit www.jeunelune.org.
