Theatre at the Center, 1040 Ridge Road in Munster, will present Defending the Caveman, the second longest running solo play in Broadway history, on June 7 at 8 p.m., Saturday, June 8 at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday, June 9 at 2:30 p.m. as a special event during their 2013 season. A hilariously insightful play about the ways men and women relate, Defending the Caveman has won the hearts of over eight million people worldwide in more than 16 different languages. Written by Rob Becker, the smash comedy stars the Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year, Guinness World Record Holder for most theatrical performances in 50 days, and Munster High School Graduate, Kevin Burke.

With hilarious insights on contemporary feminism, masculine sensitivity and the erogenous zone, Defending the Caveman addresses the common themes in relationships that go straight to the funny bone. It is an international hit with productions in 30 countries, including the United States, Canada, South Africa, Iceland, Sweden and Germany. Comedian Rob Becker wrote Defending the Caveman over a three-year period during which he made an informal study of anthropology, prehistory, psychology, sociology and mythology. This prehistoric look at the battle of the sexes played for two years on Broadway and is full of hilarious scenarios that celebrate the differences between men and women.

Theatre at the Center will also offer a food-feast buffet to complete the Caveman evening with the option for dinner on Friday or Saturday at 6 p.m. for $60 per person or brunch on Sunday at 1 p.m. for $62.50 per person. The buffet menu includes pepper steak and rice, fried chicken, duchess potatoes, Italian beans, bowtie pasta, blacken tilapia, and chocolate fudge cake.

A graduate of Munster High School, Kevin Burke has been starring in the Broadway tour of Defending the Caveman to critical acclaim since 2003. He has been featured on OPRAH, THE CBS MORNING NEWS, NPR's TALK OF THE NATION, THE DR. Laura Berman SHOW on XM Satellite Radio, NBC-TV's FRIDAY NIGHT, and ABC-TV's AMERICA'S FUNNIEST PEOPLE which awarded Kevin its grand prize. Kevin is also one of the founding actors of the famed IMPROV OLYMPICS, and has starred in stage productions of Man of La Mancha, West Side Story, Gemini, Sexual Perversity in Chicago, Guys & Dolls, The Underpants, Whose Life is it Anyway?, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and A Midsummer Night's Dream under the direction of David Swann of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. Kevin's own solo play Born to Goof debuted at the Phoenix Theater in Indianapolis, and was the hit of the 2001 Chicago Comedy Festival.
