Theatre-Hikes, a non-profit theater company based in Chicago, presents Driving Miss Daisy by Alfred Uhry. Theatre-Hikes has been presenting "Stories That Move You!" since 2001 at North Park Village Nature Center and The Morton Arboretum. They present family friendly entertainment combined with a light walk, or a bit of exercise in a nature environment.
Theatre-Hikes is proud to announce their next production, Driving Miss Daisy. While some of the subject matter is above children's heads, they hope all ages can enjoy the friendship of this unlikely couple as they age and grow together for about 40 years.
Presented in Theatre-Hikes outdoor ambulatory format, with 2 hikes, they bring only what is needed to tell the tale of this older Jewish woman, her son and her driver, a black man. They share the strife of hatred and bigotry, but more important they realize that they are both human and have much more in common than just what's on the outside or what appears to be different at surface level.
