The State Theatre's Associate Artistic Director Taylor Bibat will present Crowded House: An Explosion of Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale.

About the show: "Ignited by the linear narrative, Crowded House explores the themes of each act of the original play. Audience members will follow a tour guide, room to room, exploring an environment of jealousy, rage, death, love, and life. This experiential "translation" remixes Shakespeare's original story by means of sound, object, bodies, and creative juiciness."

Opening night is Friday February 10, 2012 at 7:00pm, 7:30pm, 8:15pm and 8:45pm beginning at The Blue Line Lounge, 1548 N. Damen Avenue and traveling to the Wicker Park Art Center, 2215 W. North Avenue.

A directing ensemble of 9 of the top young directors in Chicago welcomes you into this extraordinary theatrical event. Crowded House features work by Alexis Randolph (Act I), Jessica Hudson (Act II), Josh Sobel, Matt Ozawa (Act III), Casey Searles, Kasey Foster (Act IV), Taylor Bibat, Gillian Hemme (Act V), and Mark Via-Franco.

Taylor Bibat (Associate Artistic Director) graduated from Oberlin College in 2007 with a BA in Theater where she concentrated in acting and directing. Upon graduation she was presented with the Nash Drama Award and an award for activism from the Psychology department. She immediately moved back to her native Chicago to pursue a theater career and fell in love with the city and especially the energizing theater scene she found here. As an actor, Taylor has worked with companies such as Circle Theatre (where she was also a Junior Associate Company member), Redmoon Theater, Collaboraction, Thresholds Theater Arts Project, Victory Gardens, and Blair Thomas and Company, Curious Theatre Branch and trained at The Eugene O'Neill National Theater Institute, CAP21 in NYC for musical theater, Gallery 37, and Chicago Academy for the Arts. She also created and produced the first annual Element: A New Plays Festival in September 2008. In addition to theater she enjoys making things with her hands, teaching street kids in the Philippines, and working with adults with developmental disabilities and with mental illness.
