The Second City Training Center in Chicago proudly presents The Mary Scruggs Works By Women Festival 2018. Back for its seventh consecutive year, the annual showcase features a two-day lineup of world premiere sketches and songs written by women of the Second City Training Center, performances by some of the best and brightest up-and-coming female performers, panel discussions, and a selection of free one-hour workshops. Named for Mary Scruggs, who served as The Second City Training Center's Writing Program Head from 2001 until her death in 2011, the festival was created to honor and continue her legacy.

"Mary was a much-loved teacher who was always encouraging her students to step up to meet their full potential. With this festival, we are continuing Mary's vision by supporting our students to become the next generation of fiercely funny women writers," said Spike Kunetz, Second City Training Center faculty member and festival founder.

The Mary Scruggs Works By Women Festival will be held Friday, February 16 and Saturday, February 17, 2018 in Second City's Studio Theaters. Tickets are on sale now for $13 and can be purchased at online or by phone at 312-662-4562.
