The Second City announces the cast for The Second City e.t.c.'s 42nd Revue. Under the direction of Annelise Toft with music direction byJacob Shuda, The Second City e.t.c.'s 42nd Revue features Emily Fightmaster, Sayjal Joshi, Katie Kershaw, Andrew Knox, Alan Linic and Jasbir Singh Vazquez. The stage manager is Laura Hum. The official press opening is Friday, April 6 at 8pm.
From aliens to the alienated, savage roasts to distorted boasts, The Second City e.t.c.'s 42nd Revue invites you along on a frenzied frolic that translates our modern world into the common language of laughter. The Second City e.t.c.'s 42nd Revue plays on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 11pm, and Sundays at 7pm in the e.t.c. About the Artists
EMILY FIGHTMASTER (Ensemble) is from Cincinnati, Ohio. She is one of the newest members of The Second City's e.t.c. ensemble and has traveled coast to coast with The Second City Touring Company (Green Co.). She is an alum of Boom Chicago, an Amsterdam-based comedy theatre. Emily is a member of Baby Wine at the Annoyance and Glass Basement at iO.
SAYJAL JOSHI (Ensemble) is from North Carolina, where she helped open an improv comedy club called The Idiot Box. Back for her second revue on the e.t.c. stage, she's also done comedy for the Kennedy Center, the Goodman, Woolly Mammoth, Cincinnati Playhouse, Zanies, The Kates, The Second City Touring Company, the Annoyance Theatre, iO, Laugh Out Loud Theater, and critically acclaimed Asian-American sketch ensemble, Stir-Friday Night!
KATIE KERSHAW (Ensemble) was born and raised in Eastern Kentucky and is a ridiculously proud Appalachian. When Katie is not performing with The Second City, she can be found making goofs with The Late 90s (iO), Trigger Happy (Annoyance), and her one true love, SheBeast (Annoyance). She is a former cast member of Boom Chicago in Amsterdam, and she also had the pleasure of performing in The Second City's Almost Accurate Guide To America: Divided WeStand at the Kennedy Center. She is represented by Paonessa Talent Agency.
Andrew Knox (Ensemble) is originally from Shelburne, Vermont. An ensemble member in the e.t.c.'s 41st revue, Fantastic Great Super Nation Numero Uno, he is also a Second City TourCo alum and member of the Improvised Shakespeare Company.
ALAN LINIC (Ensemble) returns for his second e.t.c. revue after performing with Fantastic Super Great Nation Numero Uno. Prior to joining the e.t.c. cast, he performed at the Kennedy Center as a part of The Second City and Slate collaboration Unelectable You. He is an alumnus of The Second City Touring Company and can be seen performing at Chicago's UP Comedy Club and the iO Theater. He and his wife, Claire, wrote a workbook for couples called Our Perfect Marriage.
JASBIR SINGH VAZQUEZ (Ensemble) is an alum of The Second City e.t.c., having previously appeared in Fantastic Super Great Nation Numero Uno and performing with The Second City Touring Company. He is a graduate of The Second City Training Center's improv, writing, acting, and Conservatory programs. Jasbir has also performed with the Second City House Ensemble and Outreach program, at iO, the Annoyance Theater, and with his award-winning sketch group Warm Milk.
ANNELIESE TOFT (Director) is directing her first Second City resident stage production after regularly contributing as a director for The Second City Theatricals. Her recent projects include Fast, Loud, & Funny at UP Comedy Club, The Second City's collaboration with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Longer! Louder! Wagner!and a two-year tenure with The Second City Touring Company. She also directs sketch comedy in venues all over Chicago, including the Annoyance, Theater Wit, Stage 773, The Public House Theatre, and iO.
JACOB SHUDA (Original Music, Sound Design, Musical Director) is a moon worshiper from Wisconsin. He started live-scoring improv when he was 16 years old, and since has traveled the world with The Second City Touring Company. This is his fifth resident stage revue. Outside of Second City, catch him leading the synth dance rock band Veil Surfer.
LAURA HUM (Stage Manager) is thrilled to be a part of the e.t.c.'s 42nd revue. Previous credits on this stage include Fantastic Great Super Nation Numero Uno,A Red Line Runs Through It, and Soul Brother, Where Art Thou? She's an alumna of the Ohio State University and The Second City Touring Company.
