SCAPEGOAT - Staged Reading
Written by Connor McNamara
Directed by Co-Artistic Director Andrew Hobgood
Featuring Alex Grelle, Susan Monts-Bologna, Liz Sharpe, Stephanie Shum, Cole Simon and Norm Woodel
The Porter family have made good lives for themselves: Anse is a revered United States Senator, his loyal wife Ellie and he have three adopted children, and his son-in-law has become his closest political advisor. They've also managed to hide the fact that they happen to be Satanists. When news begins to trickle out that the Senator is not all that he claims to be, the family must decide if it's best to stick together, or destroy itself in order to survive. Gathering at the family's secret lake house, the Porter's history and unique sense of right and wrong weigh out against their choices between loyalty and self-preservation. Scapegoat strives to ask who controls our own stories, and what are the fictions we choose to believe?
