New dance works created, designed and performed by the NU Group -- a collaboration of Northwestern University alumni artists -- will take place on the Evanston campus and in a Chicago performance space this spring.

Open to the public and produced by the University's dance program, Evanston campus performances at 8 p.m. Friday, April 29 and 8 p.m. Saturday, April 30, will be held in the Ballroom Theater of the Marjorie Ward Marshall Dance Center, 10 Arts Circle Drive.

Chicago performances will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23, at The Building Stage at 412 No. Carpenter St.

The consecutive concerts spotlight the increasing presence of Northwestern alumni in local and global dance communities.

Intelligent, theatrical, intricate and athletic, works by the NU Group will showcase the scope of the growth and influence of the alumni artists in the professional world of dance.

Featured Northwestern alumni include Julia Rhoads and Meghann Wilkinson of Lucky Plush Productions, Peter Carpenter, Annie Beserra of Striding Lion Performance Group, Adam Gauzza of Same Planet Different World Dance Theatre, Michala Stock of the New York dance company Eyes of a Blue Dog Dance Theater, and Genevieve Garcia and Jeff Hancock.

Tickets for each performance are priced from $12 to $20 and may be purchased online at Brown Paper Tickets.
