The MAC Seeks Cast for COD College Theater Production Of A CHRISTMAS CAROL  Image

College of DuPage (COD) College Theater holds open auditions for young actors, both girls and boys, between the ages of 4 and 14 for "A Christmas Carol," directed by Amelia Barrett, in room 188 at the McAninch Arts Center, 425 Fawell Blvd on the campus of College of DuPage, Saturday, Oct. 13, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. (or until last actor is seen). Audition details:

  • No prior experience is necessary. Actors should be dressed in comfortable clothing and be prepared to move.
  • Auditions will be improvisation and short scene work with adult actors and the director.
  • Cast must be available for rehearsals in October and November (including Thanksgiving weekend) which will be scheduled primarily on weekday evenings and weekend afternoons. More information about rehearsals will available at the auditions.

College of DuPage Theater's production of "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens, adapted by William J. Norris, directed by Amelia Barrett, COD professor of theater, comes to the MAC Friday, Nov. 23 at 7 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 24 and 25 at 3 and 7 p.m. (A performance for school groups take place Monday, Nov. 26 at 10 a.m.) This family-friendly 70-minute play brings to life the classic tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, who learns that change is always possible and the great joy of caring for those less fortunate. With an exuberant cast of 50 people from the community, this marks the 15th time College Theater has presented this classic tale to usher in the holiday, in what has become a MAC tradition.
