The Inconvenience to Premiere THE SALTS

This May, The Inconvenience will bring you the World Premiere of The Salts, a brand new experiential dance project by Erin Kilmurray in collaboration with Molly Brennan. Drawing inspiration from live music experiences, The Salts is a brave foray into the infusion of contemporary dance with the spirit, prowess and the explosive performances of iconic frontmen. The Salts perform a set of high-velocity dances to distorted guitar, driving bass lines, wild vocals and heart-thumping drum beats. An exercise in engaging the audience outside of the typical: instead of seats, expect a standing room only venue that allows everybody close access to the action. Erin Kilmurray/The Salts has been featured by Links Hall, Salonathon, University of Chicago and Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.

In announcing this project, Missi Davis (Artistic Director of The Inconvenience) would like to state that "The Salts is the perfect event to kick off our 2015 season. We've been working towards presenting a full length production of Erin's choreography for years now, and this project really takes us to the roots of our collaborative efforts. The Salts are going to take the audience by storm. Mikhail Fiksel put it best, 'It's going to be like seeing a bands' performance from the inside of the kick drum.' We hope it gets people moving with us."

The Salts will run two weekends. Doors open at 8:30pm, and all performances start at 9:00pm.
