This Saturday, June 20th, The Inconvenience and Locallective band together to present QuickDraw: a one-night-only Game Show/Art Show/Punk Show. The Inconvenience and Locallective have each selected two visual artists for the battle and The Inconvenience's Mary Williamson hosts as the artists square off head-to-head to complete the quickest, loudest, most exciting collection of works during the games where the audience plays the judge.
Locallective brings Tararachy, known for her twisted neon screen prints, representing the Chicago street art scene. Danko of Urban Monsters claims his territory as resident artist of the Wicker Park venue. The Inconvenience brings artist and stand-up comedian, Meredith Kachel, to the ring, whose illustrations were featured on NBC's The Office. Contender, Pete Ziegl, taps in next, who is a master in hand drawn work for print.
Chicago eclectic band Ego will accompany the artists through their challenges, which means the band mates are ultimately at the beckon call of Williamson, who has the ability to interject her own rules throughout the games.
Post Punk Funk-a-Dunk trio, The Cell Phones play the after party, where artists and audience alike are invited to enjoy Pabst Blue Ribbon cans and cocktails and rock out freely.Artistic Director of The Inconvenience, Missi Davis, says of this event, "Not only is QuickDraw going to be a great time and allow us to present provocative visual and musical artists, but it allows us the opportunity to work with like-minded organization Locallective to collide our respective performance and visual arts communities in ways we haven't yet explored. We hope this event makes way for more collaborations like this."
