Latest Cabaret Revue Puts New Twist On Classic Christmas Story
On December 5th, Chicago’s own Flaming Dames Torch Cabaret is returning to The Spot and adding a little spice to the holiday season in their latest revue, “Have a Very Sexy Christmas”. This non-reveal show keeps a few of the Dames’ gifts under wraps, but what they’re sharing will keep audiences warm on cold winter nights. Performing in intimate ‘Green Room’, this production brings a contemporary twist to the seasonal favorites everyone loves and features new music that will get your toes tapping to a different ‘little drummer boy’.
Meagan Piccochi directs the Flaming Dames Torch Cabaret again after a successful revue this past summer. Recently, she received critical acclaim for writing and arranging the music for New Millennium’s fall production of The Texas Chainsaw Musical. Some of her other NMTC music credits include Cubicle: An Office Space Musical and Manos: Rock Opera of Fate. In describing the upcoming revue, Meagan thinks “the holidays bring up a lot of different feelings for people—from excitement to frustration and even sadness sometimes. This revue sums it all up.” She is also playing composer again, contributing two original songs, “I’ve Been Naughty” and “There’s No Christmas Without You”, destined to become holiday classics. The first is a confessional in which each girl admits to their misbehaving and the latter inspired by the “Brill Building” sound that came out of the 1960s.

David Bowie Hepzikat Velvet Flarney Solstice Spectacular…Live From Space just two blocks south at National Pastime Theater. Finishing up their 10th anniversary season, New Millennium Theatre Company have become veterans at bringing seasonal spirit with a twist to Chicago’s north side with past hits like The Flaming Dames in Naughty and Nice and Sin-ta Claus City. New Millennium Theatre Company will also be collecting donations of non-perishable food items and brand new toys that will be provided to Uptown Ministry. Patrons can bring them to the production and they will be collected by NMTC. Toy donations will be given to Uptown Ministry after the weekend of December 13th and food donations will given after the January 2nd closing performance.
The Flaming Dames Torch Cabaret in ‘A Very Sexy Christmas’ runs Friday nights at 8:30 pm December 5th through January 2nd and Friday nights at 10:30 pm December 26 through January 2 at The Spot, 4437 N.
