It's official: The Charlie Daniels Band will headline the Jam on the Fox outdoor musical festival, joining The Georgia Satellites, Hearstfield and Red Woody for a rockin' good time on the banks of the scenic Fox River in downtown Aurora on Saturday, August 18.

Jam on the Fox will take place at the North River Street Park in the heart of Aurora's historic downtown entertainment district, at New York and River Streets, just west of the Hollywood Casino. In addition to a day full of southern fried country rock, icy libations, fantastic food, music vendors and a relaxed atmosphere for the whole family to enjoy are also on tap. A nominal entry fee of $5 covers admission. Admission is free for children 12 and under. Festival hours are 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. (gates open at 1:30 p.m.) There are no advance sales for Jam on the Fox. All tickets are purchased day of at the entry gates.

Charlie Daniels is the full package: singer, song writer, guitarist, fiddler and country musical icon. His stage shows, which earned him two Academy of Country Music's Touring Band of the Year awards, set the stage for today's country arena shows. He's sold over 20 million albums, won awards from The Country Music Association, The Academy of Country Music, The Gospel Music Association and the Grammys. And his songs are synonymous with southern rock including "Long Haired Country Boy," The South's Gonna Do It " and of course, the unofficial country anthem "The Devil Went Down to Georgia."

Openers for The Charlie Daniels Band (performing at 8:30 p.m.) are:

Red Woody (2:30 p.m.)

For over a decade, Red Woody has been rocking audiences with two simple premises: play great music that audiences recognize and want to hear, and make every show a party. They've lived up to that motto every time they've taken the stage and Jam audiences will get a chance to experience these amazing musicians for themselves. From Lynyrd Skynyrd to the Eagles and Matchbox 20, you'll want to get a front row seat for this rocking good time.

Heartsfield (4:30 p.m.)

Heartsfield has sold millions of records and continues to please audiences with their brand of vocal rock music that has its foundations in southern and country rock. At any performance, Heartsfield shows are full of fun, up-tempo, foot-stompin' music that gets the crowd involved, singin' and dancin' away. The band delivers on its promise of hot pickin', strong vocals, driving rhythms and smiles from the stage, which have allowed them to last over three decades and still continue to please audiences with their growing catalog of hits.

The Georgia Satellites (6:30 p.m.)

The Georgia Satellites are that little ol' rock band from Atlanta, Georgia that made five words famous - Keep Your Hands to Yourself. A blend of country, blues and southern rock, their guitar driven sounds dominated the MTV airwaves in the '80s while their hit made it to the number two slot on the Billboard 100 being inched out of the top slot by Bon Jovi's Livin' on a Prayer. The band went on to score other chart raters including Battleship Chains and Hippy, Hippy Shake while their live performances with their searing guitars and non-stop energy have thrilled millions.
