Chicago's all Latina theater company celebrates its 12th Anniversary with the Midnight Sun Summer Festival, a series of live performances, comedy, music, and fiestas in its new home, Luna Central. ¡Ay Mami!, Teatro Luna's newest series, will kick off Midnight Sun today, July 27th with an evening of performances on the perils and triumphs of juggling fame and family; auditions and tantrums; microphones, mani-pedis, and mommyhood by Chicago's hottest Latina artists.
In addition to the ¡Ay Mami! series, the Midnight Sun Summer Festival will also include: Sexomedy, a raunchy comedy hour by Teatro Luna Artistic Associate Melissa Duprey; Noche Bohemias, an interdisciplinary performance salon showcasing artists of color from musicians to burlesque dancers to poets and everything in between; Marimachas, a coquettish comedy cabaret featuring Chicago's Latina comedians, improv artists, and other hot performers to tickle your funny bone; Fools Back in Session, a back-to-school hip-hop concert hosted by April Fools, a brother/sister rap duo featuring Ensemble Member Kristiana Rae Colón; and Luna Tropical, Teatro Luna's annual farewell to summer fiesta.
¡Ay Mami!, an evening of mamis, mojitos, & microphones kicks off Teatro Luna's Midnight Sun Summer Festival performance series. The show features Coya Paz, Karla Estela River, and Suzette Mayobre and plays at Luna Central at 3914 N Clark, today, July 27th at 7:30pm. Tickets are $10, which includes a complimentary cocktail.

Teatro Luna is Chicago's only all-Latina theatre dedicated to creating original devised and single-author work by Latinas that honors Latina lives and showcases the talents of Latina/Hispana artists. Founded in 2000, Teatro Luna is dedicated to expanding the range of Latina/Hispana roles visible on the Chicago stage and beyond.
