The Dolphin Show, America's largest student-produced musical, announces TITANIC as the 73rd Annual Dolphin Show. TITANIC is to be directed by Communication senior Brendan Flynn and produced by Communication senior Jack Eidson and School of Education and Social Policy senior Izzy Garcia, with support from a cast and team of over 150 Northwestern University students. TITANIC will run for five performances from January 23rd through January 30th in Cahn Auditorium, with tickets going on sale to the general public December 1st.
TITANIC, with music and lyrics by Maury Yeston and book by Peter Stone, opened on Broadway in April of 1997. TITANIC brings the tragic story of the RMS Titanic to the stage, dramatizing the ship's maiden and final voyage while chronicling the heartbreaking stories of those on board the sinking ocean liner. Audiences will get an intense look at the final hours aboard the Titanic, only to be heightened by Yeston's epic score. TITANIC hopes to cultivate a newfound sense of hope after witnessing the humanity that remains in times of great tragedy and a new perspective of one of the most famous catastrophes of the 20th century.
The cast of TITANIC includes Northwestern students Max Rein, Sean Gundersen, Peter Harding, Tess Musky-Goldwyn, Ross Cohen, Rachel Guth, Hale McSharry, Alex Kramer, Nat Kier, Julia Namm, Adam Turkel, Caroline Henry, Julie Busch, Mariah Copeland, Maisie Rose, Adam Brody, Dylan Pager, Rosemarie Chandler, Leah Platt, Sam Baran, Kylie Mullins, Wilson Shirley, Adam King, Daniel Liu, Brad Smith, Ryan Martin, Sam Shankman, Alex Christ, Nathan Villa, Alex Bird, Chris Jumper, Christopher Flaim, Martin French, Kaja Burke-Williams, Rebecca Elowe, Kali Skatchke, Eric Peters, Alyssa Sarnoff and Meg Peterson.
The Dolphin Show is proud to be bringing this powerful musical to life on the Cahn Auditorium stage in 2015. Since beginning as a swimming-pool fundraiser for the Dolphin Club in 1940, The Dolphin Show has produced over 70 musicals with teams of over 150 passionate Northwestern students each year, quickly making a name for itself as America's largest student produced musical. Since its humble beginnings, The Dolphin Show has remained a staple in the Northwestern and Chicagoland communities with its high production values, dedicated design teams, and talented casts of preprofessional student performers.
This is an exciting year for The Dolphin Show, marking the 45th anniversary of the production moving from pool to stage. In addition, TITANIC's past productions include many Northwestern alum, including Broadway performer Brian d'Arcy James, Chicago theatre artists Scott Weinstein and Elizabeth Doran, and many more. The 73rd Annual Dolphin Show is looking forward to getting alumni involved with the production and bringing the Dolphin family back to campus to make yet another splash.
