Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre in association with Michael James presents The Lady's Not for Burning at the intimate, 55-seat cabaret setting of No Exit Café, 6970 N. Glenwood (Rogers Park by Morse el stop on Red Line).

The Lady's Not for Burning by Christopher Fry was written in 1948 at the height of the House Un-American Activities Committee hearings following World War II, although the play takes place during the Middle Ages. Written in verse resembling Shakespeare's pastoral comedies, it is a poetic, romantic dark comedy about an accused witch on her way to be burned at the stake and her great desire to live versus a war-weary, disillusioned soldier in despair with a great desire to die.
