THE AMERICAN DEMIGODS proudly present the Chicago premiere of THE IRRELEVANT ADVENTURES OF JARVIS MCFADDEN, a coming of age, shaggy dog detective comedy by Rory Leahy

Jarvis McFadden is an eccentric but aimless 19 year old who has passed on college to stay home with his widowed mother and two younger siblings. Until one fateful night, when his friends are bullied at a party, he realizes his true calling, to fight crime on the streets of his hometown as a hard boiled private detective. There's just one problem...he lives in a peaceful, happy suburb with no crime to fight. Like a modern day Don Quixote, Jarvis is on a quest to find monsters to battle, real or imagined.

The Irrelevant Adventures of Jarvis McFadden was first produced at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign by the prestigious Penny Dreadful Players student company, this is its professional premiere.

Author Rory Leahy, American Demigods founder, has previously directed the hits Lysistrata 3000, and Monks in Trouble earlier this year and has written short works for companies such as Darknight Theatrical Productions, and the Silent Theatre Company.

The play is directed by David DeVries, a veteran of multiple sketch and improv productions at locations such as Second City Skybox and Gorilla Tango Theatre, including Eat Mud and Kill Hard: The Live Action Movie.

The show will be performed every Friday and Saturday night at 8pm between July 30th and September 4th, 2010 at the Cornservatory Theatre, 4210 N. Lincoln Avenue, Chicago, IL. Tickets will be $15. Tickets will be available after July 16th at americandemigods.com

We humbly invite members of the press and all other interested parties to come see this funny, moving, and exciting piece of theatre.
