After a sold out, 9 month engagement of Jersey Shore: The Musical, NPR has approached 4 Days Late to write an original holiday radio show. The company comes together with the intent of recording a show satirizing holiday commercialism, only to have it hijacked by one of the members for his own personal use. IT'S A WONDERFUL PRO-LIFE is a behind the scenes (think Noises Off) adventure of how the group ultimately rallies, in true Christmas spirit, to create perhaps the best holiday show of all time.
"IT'S A WONDERFUL PRO-LIFE explores much deeper themes connected to what the holidays are traditionally supposed to concern: the values of basic goodness and sacrifice, the gift of friendship, the pitfalls of greed and commercialism, the sense of community and belonging that helps us feel truly connected in a society," says Shapiro, Director and Studio BE's Executive/Artistic Director.
The production features 4 Days Late Productions company members, Anna Schlegel, Erin Johnson, Steve Truncale, Alex Myerchin, Nate Stoner, Dan Gold, Tony Jaksha, Emily Friedrick and Jason Lord. Directed by AaRon Shapiro.
4 Days Late Productions was founded in 2007 and features a collaborative team of writers who have once again birthed a gut busting original script. Their most recent success,Jersey Shore The Musical, ran for 9 months to sold-out audiences all over Chicagoland. Other productions include: Time to Stop Worrying, America: For Dummies, ObamaNation American's In Peril, iAlone.
