Fall Registration is now open for Stage 773's Fall Education and Programming Series, offering specialized classes, workshops and programming taught by some of the biggest names in Chicago's theater community, offered at a lower cost than comparable training centers in the area. Stage 773 offers à la carte options for both emerging and experienced artists. The multi-disciplinary classes offered broaden any actor's training and can fill any gaps in their repertoire.
"Stage 773 is about connecting Chicago theater and helping artists grow and collaborate," says Brian Posen, Creative Director. "Our education program expands upon our mission because it is truly inspired by the thousands of artists and patrons who come through our doors every year."
Kicking off the program this fall are six-week study courses including Intro to Spoken Word, with Gregory Geffrard, helping artists polish their writing skills or learn to tell their story and find their inner voice with Intro to Solo Performance with Laura Korn and Joel Reistma; Explore the extremes of character through application of Mime, Mimicry and Movement with A Taste of LeCoq, taught by Thomas Wynne. Stage 773's Education series wouldn't be complete without an array of intensive six week Scene Study courses, ranging from Shakespeare and Chekhov, to Advanced Scene Study with notable actor and director Scott Olson. Additional courses include Intro to Mask, Intro to Voice & Speech, Live Lit Master Class, Mime & Object Work, Intro to Slapstick, and Branding for Interdisciplinary Performers.
The high-quality, low-cost classes range from $235 to $255 for a six-week session, and $110 for the three-week classes. To register for classes, simply visit www.stage773.com/education or call Amanda Jane Long at 773.929.7367, X110.
