Spectralia Theatre, in cooperation with Friends of the Parks and the Chicago Park District, presents Shakespeare's As You Like It June 30 to August 5.
Welcome to Arden – the bridge between urban and pastoral, where everyone's going somewhere but no one knows where they are. Follow this lively crew of buskers, nature enthusiasts and park employees on their adventures in love, honor and reconciliation. This family-friendly, 90-minute version of As You Like It is a great introduction to Shakespeare as well as a new take on a classic comedy. Patrons are encouraged to bring picnics, blankets and/or chairs to this outdoor production.
Spectralia Theatre founding member
Don Johnson directs the production. This is Johnson's fifth Shakespeare adaptation and his first for Spectralia. Artistic staff includes Peter Waldman (original music), Chad Bianchi (set design), Emma Weber (costume design), and Kaitlin Taylor (assistant direction).
