Single Tickets on Sale Next Month for The MAC's 2017-18 Season

McAninch Arts Center (MAC) located at 425 Falwell Blvd. on the campus of College of DuPage hosts a Tickets On-Sale Party and Free Community Open House Saturday, Aug. 5, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

This event marks first time the public can purchase individual tickets for the MAC's exciting 2017-2018 Season, New Philharmonic concerts and Buffalo Theatre Ensemble productions, as well as tickets to broadcasts of six plays from the acclaimed National Theatre Live's International Series and a triad of National Geographic Live presentations.

Tickets will subsequently be available online at AtTheMAC.org on Sunday, Aug. 6 at 12 a.m. and by phone at 630.942.4000 on Sunday, Aug. 6 beginning at 12 noon.

On Aug. 5, ticket buyers will enjoy personalized customer care from the MAC's ticket services staff, no handling fees and the chance to pick their seats. The first 50 ticket buyers on that day will also receive a special complimentary gift. Everyone attending the event will have the opportunity to see the three MAC theater spaces, and enjoy free food, including sandwich wraps, chips, popcorn, sweets, soda and coffee. Steven Havens, pianist and instructor of piano at College of DuPage will entertain the crowds and ticket giveaways will take place every half-hour.

A few of the highlights of MAC's 2017-2018 Performance Series include "Tuesdays with Morrie" starring "M*A*S*H" star Jamie Farr (Sept. 30); "LIV ON," an exciting new project by Grammy Award-winner Olivia Newton-John, with Beth Nielsen Chapman & Amy Sky (Oct. 14); "Take Me to the River LIVE: a Memphis Soul and Rhythm & Blues Revue" featuring Grammy Award-winners William Bell, Charlie Musselwhite and Bobby Rush (Nov. 5); PBS celebrity chef and acclaimed author Lidia Bastianich (Nov. 9), the Chicago premiere of a new show by tap dance legend Savion Glover (Nov. 26) and concerts by Grammy Award-winning trumpeter Chris Botti (Jan. 20), "¡Cubanismo!" featuring Jesús Alemañy with his all-star orchestra (Feb. 18), and legendary singer-songwriter, Rosanne Cash (April 14)

New to the MAC this season: National Geographic Live thought-provoking presentations by today's leading explorers, scientists and photographers. Events will include "Strangers in a Strange Land" (Oct. 20) presented by Jodi Cobb; "Exploring Mars" (Feb. 9) presented by Kobie Boykins; and "Grand Canyon Adventure: The 800-Mile Hike That Nearly Killed Us" (April 6) presented by Kevin Fedarko and Pete McBride.

And by popular demand the MAC will once again host broadcasts from National Theatre Live's International Series, part of the U.K.'s National Theatre's groundbreaking project a selection of world class, award-winning British theater productions to local venues around the world. These will include "No Man's Land" by Harold Pinter, starring Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart; "Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead" by Tom Stoppard, starring Daniel Radcliffe and more.
