On Monday, September 9 at 9PM, Sidetrack, Chicago's premiere video bar, hosts the cast members of the Chicago mega-hit Oprah Winfrey Presents The Color Purple. Members of the cast members being on hand, plus a ticket and merchandise giveaway is planned.
The Color Purple will complete its Chicago engagement at the Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W. Randolph St.) on September 30, before moving to San Francisco.
The Color Purple, which launched its North American Tour in Chicago on April 17, 2007, features stars of the Broadway production, Jeannette Bayardelle and Felicia P. Fields, along with Destiny's Child's Michelle Williams and American Idol alum LaToya London.
The show features a book by Pulitzer Prize-winner Marsha Norman, music and lyrics by Grammy Award-winning composers/lyricists Brenda Russell, Allee Willis and Stephen Bray and choreography by Donald Byrd. The original creative team of John Lee Beatty (sets), Paul Tazewell (costumes), Brian MacDevitt (lighting), Jon Weston (sound), Jonathan Tunick (orchestrations) and Kevin Stites (Music Supervisor) has been reunited for the tour.
