On Saturday, January 15 Sideshow Theatre Company will be holding a fundraising event to benefit Sideshow and the Howard Brown Health Centers of Chicago. Howard Brown Health Center is one of the nation's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) healthcare organizations, and is in danger of closing.

This event is the Chicago League of Lady Arm Wrestlers VIII. A lot has happened to CLLAW in the past few months, and this event promises to be bigger and better than ever. Penthouse Magainze did a spread (ahem) on CLLAW in November saying that "a new age of female domination is upon us". http://penthousemagazine.com/features/get-a-grip/

Attached is our media alert with more details. This time around we have 16 wrestlerst, some truly amazing raffle prizes and chances to win them all night, a sweet bar package, and a colorful mix of returning champions and new wrestlers.

For more information please check out our CLLAW Blog at http://www.sideshowtheatre.org/cllaw. We would appreciate you listing our event on your calendar. Any questions please feel free to contact me. My cell number is 703-577-0640.

Witness sixteen strong armed, costumed and crazy lady arm wrestlers battle it out for the championship sash in CLLAW VIII! Fusing an open bar, arm bending strength, shady referees and audience participation, CLLAW is the perfect fundraiser that makes YOU part of the action! Recently featured in the Washington Post as "a new age in female domination" and described as
"one hell of a show" in the November issue of Penthouse Magazine, CLLAW is gaining huge momentum with our last match witnessed by 260 arm-wrestling enthusiasts! Come enjoy the match and stay afterwards while our DJ spins some tunes and keeps the party going! Our eighth match promises to combine entertainment and intensity, tension and hilarity, as well as upsets and new champions, all benefiting a good cause.

The event is on Saturday, January 15th, 2011. Doors open 9:30pm, first match at 10:00pm. The venue is The Mystic Celt at 3443 North Southport Avenue, Chicago IL. There is a three hour open bar package from 10:00pm - 1:00am for $25. Cash bar is available and a suggested donation of $5 is encouraged.

CLLAW VIII benefits Sideshow Theatre Company and the Howard Brown Health Center. The Howard Brown Health Center is one of the nation's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) healthcare organizations. The agency serves more than 36,000 adults and youths each year, and its diverse health and social service delivery system focuses around the following programmatic divisions: primary medical care, behavioral health, research, HIV/STD prevention, youth and older adult services, and other community initiatives. Sideshow Theatre Company is an Illinois-based non-profit whose mission is to mine The Collective Unconscious of the world we live in with limitless curiosity, drawing inspiration from the stories, memories and images we all share to spark new conversation and bring our audience together as adventurers in a communal experience of exploration. Our next production, Heddatron, opens February 11, 2011 and is performed as part of Steppenwolf's 2011 GARAGE REP: three productions by some of Chicago's most innovative young theatre companies presented in rotating repertory in the Garage at Steppenwolf. Returning wrestlers The Great Pumpkin, The Devil Wears Prada, GaGa Gunshow, and Primus Exhibition Match champion Connie Vict will battle new female faces like Harujuku Ninja and the Slammin' Granny! Mistress of Ceremonies Rockke L. Squelch will be running the show and keeping the two questionable referees and special celebrity guest judges in line.

The official currency of CLLAW, you can receive two CLLAWBUX for $1, and bet on your favorite wrestlers, bribe a referee or judge, and attempt to win fantastic raffle prizes!
Prizes for CLLAW VIII include a private tour of the Metropolitan Brewery in Chicago and a case of Metropolitan's delicious beers. Other amazing prizes include a $50 gift card from Whole Foods Markets, tickets to Sideshow's next production Heddatron, baked goods, and more!
