Theatre goers looking to celebrate the spirit of Halloween in sophisticated style don't have to focus their attention solely on the end of October. Supernatural Chicago-the acclaimed interactive one-man show by Neil Tobin, Necromancer-is currently celebrating its 10th fall season at Castle Chicago.
Supernatural Chicago combines "true" stories of local paranormal history with interactive demonstrations of the magical and psychic, all set within a landmark location that's considered one of the most haunted in the city: Castle Chicago (formerly Excalibur nightclub). Castle and its Necromancer have been featured on the Travel Channel's "Ghost Adventures" and the Biography Channel's "Dead Famous", among other broadcasts; as well as on the DVD of the Michael Keaton feature film, "White Noise."
The show is a welcome antidote to the usual rubber-masks-and-chainsaws experience offered by most "haunted houses." This is an evening of interactive theatre in which guests can bring dates or even older children, settle in and enjoy a couple of beverages, hear some stories, have a few laughs, and take part in a series of inexplicable moments that just might keep them up talking into the night.
Supernatural Chicago is in an open run of Friday-night performances at Castle Chicago, 632 N. Dearborn in Chicago. For tickets, call 800-979-3370 or visit SupernaturalChicago.com.
