Chicagoland audiences will rejoice with The Marriott Theatre's first mainstage production of their 2016 Subscription Season, the heavenly Broadway musical comedy, SISTER ACT, currently in previews and opening February 17 for a run through April 3 at 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

Featuring a sparkling score by Tony, Grammy and Academy Award-winner Alan Menken, with lyrics by Grammy Award-winner Glenn Slater, the hilarious and joyful musical is based on the hit Whoopi Goldberg film of the same name. Director Don Stephenson (Titanic at Lincoln Center, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike and Lend Me A Tenor at Paper Mill Playhouse, Guys And Dolls at Goodspeed Opera House) makes his Marriott Theatre directorial debut with the five-time Tony-nominated musical, featuring choreography by Melissa Zaremba (Marriott's La Cage aux Folles) and musical direction by Jeff Award-winner Doug Peck (Marriott's Dreamgirls and Fiddler on the Roof).

A feel-amazing musical comedy, SISTER ACT tells the hilarious story of Deloris Van Cartier, a disco diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime and is taken to a convent for protective custody - the last place anyone would think to look for her. Disguised as a nun, Deloris finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and a high-strung Mother Superior. With her king-size personality and killer voice to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and the community, but in doing so, blows her cover. Chaos ensues as the criminals are on the hunt for the former disco diva, only to find themselves up against the heavenly power of her newly found sisterhood. Hailed as "ridiculously fun," by The New York Post, SISTER ACT will have audiences of all ages jumping to their feet in praise.

SISTER ACT stars Stephanie Umoh as "Deloris Van Cartier" (Ragtime on Broadway) and Hollis Resnik as "Mother Superior" (National Tours of Sister Act, LES MISERABLES, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Thoroughly Modern Millie; Spring Awakening at The Marriott Theatre), with Jonathan Butler-Duplessis as "Eddie Souther", Lillian Castillo as "Mary Patrick", Don Forston as "Monsignor O'Hara", Mark Hood as "TJ", Todd Horman as "Joey", Mary Robin Roth as "Mary Lazarus", Jason Slatery as "Pablo", Tiffany Tatreau as "Mary Robert", and Byron Glenn Willis as "Curtis Jackson". Also featured are Dara Cameron, Mackenzie Curran, Anne Gunn, Marya Grandy, Sharriese Hamilton, Molly Kral, Eric Lewis, Tommy Lucas, Christine Mild, Paris Nesbitt, Eugene Peabody and Keely Vasquez.

The production will feature set design by Tom Ryan, costume design by Nancy Missimi, lighting design by Jesse Klug, sound design by Bob Gilmartin, properties design by Sally Weiss, and conducted by Musical Supervisor Patti Garwood.
