Route 66 Theatre Company's Annual Benefit is Tonight, 5/7

Route 66 Theatre Company's annual benefit, Mile Markers, will be held tonight, May 7, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Stage 773, 1225 West Belmont, Chicago.

Mile Markers, hosted by Elizabeth Ledo (recently Puck in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM at Chicago Shakespeare Theater) will include a musical entertainment led by Hollis Resnik (nine-time Jeff Award winner, currently in ANGELS IN AMERICA at Court Theatre and recipient of the 2012 Guy Adkins Award for Excellence in the Advancement of Music Theatre in Chicago); Ross Lehman (four-time Jeff Award winner and currently starring as the Modern Major General in PIRATES OF PENZANCE at the Marriott Theatre); Rebecca Finnegan, (two-time Jeff Award winner and recent star of A CATERED AFFAIR at Porchlight Music Theatre); Bob Mason, (former Jeff Award winner and now Artistic Associate and Casting Director of Chicago Shakespeare Theater) and actor, singer, composer Michael Mahler (currently in THE MARCH at Steppenwolf Theatre) and his band "The Lincoln Squares".  Other Performers include  Marya Grandy (FOLLIES at Chicago Shakespeare Theater), Donica Lynn (currently in HAIRSPRAY at Drury Lane Theatre), Diana Lawrence (of Diana and The Dishes and currently music director of TICK, TICK…BOOM! at Porchlight Music Theatre); Brandon Dahlquist(currently rehearsing A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC for Writers' Theatre); Bethany Thomas (HAIR at Paramount and PORGY AND BESS at Court Theatre); James Earl Jones II (SPAMALOT and RAGTIME at Drury Lane Theatre) and a special reunion of the 2009 Route 66 production of HIGH FIDELITY (Top 10 Production of the Year 2009-Chicago Sun Times andBroadwayworld.com), featuring the "HIFI Band" of Michael Mahler, Derek Hasenstab, Jim Barclay and Jonathan Wagner, led by Route 66 Theatre Company's Founder and Artistic Director, Stef Tovar

Mile Markers also announced a special performance by George Andrew Wolffand Larry Adams of THE HUNCHBACK VARIATIONS, which is headed to New York this June after a sold-out run in Chicago.  THE HUNCHBACK VARIATIONS will play Off-Broadway at 59E59 Theaters, the same theater that Route 66's production of the critically acclaimed, Jeff Award-winning hit, A TWIST OF WATER, will play this fall.  Tickets are $30 and include complimentary cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.

Route 66 Artistic Director Stef Tovar spoke about the Mile Markers Benefit, "I'm overwhelmed with the support of Route 66 by some of the top musical theatre talents in Chicago.  It speaks so much to where we are and how far we've come as an organization.  We've accomplished so much in such a short period of time, but the respect and support of these incredible performers speaks volumes.  I'm so grateful for their participation.  It's going to be a rockin' night."
