The production plays Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm, with a a matinee on Wednesday February 10 at 1:30 pm. Tickets are $34 general admission, $29 for seniors, $24 for students. Tickets can be purchased online at SkokieTheatre.org or by calling 847-677-7761.

BEAU JEST is a warm-hearted romantic comedy developed by Sherman at the Victory Gardens theatre in Chicago before moving to New York for a 3 year run. Sarah Goldman doesn't think her traditional Jewish parents will respond favorably to her boyfriend, a gentile guy named Chris. So she creates a fictional Jewish doctor as her imaginary beau and hires a male escort to play him in front of the family. The problem is, her charade is a little too successful and Sarah starts falling for the fake! Sherman also turned his play into a movie starring Lainie Kazan and Willie Garson.

Rachel Silvert stars as Sarah Goldman with her real life mother, Anita Silvert of Northbrook, playing her on-stage mother Miriam. Colton Schied plays her real boyfriend Chris, and Michael Dalberg plays her rented boyfriend Bob. Michael Bromberg and Neal Goldman round out the cast as Sarah's brother and father.

Joseph Jefferson Award winner Stephen M. Genovese directs. BEAU JEST is produced by MadKap founder Wendy Kaplan, with lighting design by Andrew Vanderbye, and costume and prop design by Leah Hummel. Cate Anderson is the stage manager.

BEAU JEST is the third production of MadKap's 2015-16 subscription season at Skokie Theatre. It follows their productions of the musical Next To Normal, which closed in September, and The Lion in Winter last November. The season concludes with a production of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Jay Presson Allen from April 22 - May 8, 2016.
