Robert Costanzo to Direct Emergent Theatre Company's I OUGHT TO BE IN PICTURES

EMERGENT THEATRE COMPANY has announced their forthcoming production of Neil Simon's I OUGHT TO BE IN PICTURES directed by film and television star Robert Costanzo (Honeymoon In Vegas, Only Kidding) and featuring Jim Saltouros. The production previews Friday, March 28, 2014 at 7:30pm and runs March 29- April 27, 2014 at the Mayer Kaplan JCC Theatre, 5050 Church Street, Skokie, Illinois 60077. Performances times are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm, Sundays at 3:00pm. Joining Mr. Saltouros (Herb Tucker) will be Kelly Levandar as Steffy and Kelsey Gilbert as Libby. (Kimmy Higginbothom understudies the role of Libby).

The technical team for I OUGHT TO BE IN PICTURES includes Marlana Carlson (Stage Manager); Lauren Angel-Nichols (Set Designer); Erik Berry (Lighting Design); Issac Nichols (Sound Design) and John Ofori (Technical Direction).

Description: Herb Tucker is a struggling Hollywood screenwriter suffering from writer's block. To make matters worse, his forgotten past has just shown up at his doorstep in the form of Libby, his teenage daughter, whom he abandoned, along with her mother and brother, 16 years earlier. Libby is a wisecracking, resourceful, 19-year-old who has come to Hollywood to be an actor. Convinced he can help jump-start her career, Libby expects Herb to help because he "owes her." Dispensing guilt and demanding love, Libby not only forces Herb to deal with the responsibilities of parenthood, but to come to terms with his on-again/off-again relationship with his adoring girlfriend, Steffy, as well.
