RED TAPE THEATRE PRESENTS The Skriker by Caryl ChurchillEric Hoff, director of last year's smash hit Hit The Wall, directs this haunting fairytale. An ancient shapeshifter, hell-bent on destroying the lives of two impressionable young mothers, unleashes an army of folklore creatures. The Skriker is Churchill's visionary exploration of global ecology made through gender, storytelling, distorted language and modern urban life.

Previews run 9/13-9/15 with Opening Night on 9/17 and closing on 10/20. Performance times are Thursday to Sunday 8:00

Eric Hoff: Eric's mission is to explore the intersection of beautiful art and social justice. He directed Ike Holter's Hit the Wall for The Inconvenience at both the Steppenwolf Garage and Theatre on the Lake. Eric is a proud Artistic Associate for About Face Theatre, where he recently directed What's the T? and co-produced The Woyzeck Project, a city-wide event featuring works by over thirty collaborators. Also at About Face, he served as dramaturg and assistant director for Sylvan Oswald's Pony. Eric directed Ruby Wilder for the New York International Fringe Festival. Eric served as Managing Director for (a)Symmetry Cycleat The Viaduct. He is an alumnus of Lincoln Center Theater's Director's Lab 2011. He is a co-founder of The Accidentals, an experimental troupe in New York City, with whom he is developing The American Mythology Project: Genesis, creating a new American Origins myth.

Caryl Churchill: Caryl Churchill has written for the stage, television and radio. Her singular and striking stage plays, which have been widely produced in London, New York and throughout the world, include: Light Shining in Buckinghamshire, Vinegar Tom, Cloud Nine, Top Girls, Fen, Serious Money, Mad Forest, The Skriker, This Is a Chair, Blue Heart, Far Away, A Number, Dream Play, and Drunk Enough to say I Love You.

Red Tape's work serves a vital purpose in our community: to arrest attention and create empathy. Our ensemble collaborates with playwrights, musicians, dancers, and visual artists on our three annual productions. This work is supported by our Fresh Eyes Playwrights Workshop and the Chicago Fringe Artist Networking Night, both of which are produced annually. Red Tape is housed in St. Peter's Episcopal Church. The unique performance space allows us to continually reinvent the audience/artist relationship.
