Raue Center's Artful Women is excited to welcome award-winning radio and television news anchor and reporter, Andrea Darlas, and radio show host and stand-up comedian, Patti Vasquez! Darlas and Vasquez will sit down to discuss "Women in Broadcasting and Comedy" at 3 p.m. on February 19, 2017.
Andrea Darlas is an award-winning radio and television news anchor and reporter at WGN Radio and WGN-TV. She is currently the morning news anchor and co-host of the Steve Cochran show on WGN Radio, weekend reporter on WGN-TV and a contributor to the nationally syndicated TV show "House Smarts."
During her 18-year tenure at WGN, Darlas has won a multitude of awards from the Associated Press and the Illinois Broadcaster's Association for anchoring, reporting, breaking news coverage and investigative series reports. She has also earned five IBA Silver Dome Awards for "Best Newscast" and two prestigious Peter Lisagor Awards.
Patti Vasquez is the host of "The Patti Vasquez Show" on WGN Radio, an internationally performing stand-up comedian and co-creator of the upcoming series "Patti Happens." In addition to earning the number one spot for late night radio, Vasquez has served as a commentator on the WGN-TV morning news and FOX Good Day Chicago and filled-in as a host on WCIU's "You & Me in the Morning."

Raue Center's Artful Women series was founded in 2013 by Rebecca Heisler at the suggestion of Raue Center executive director Richard Kuranda. Regina Belt-Daniels serves as committee chair. Committee members include women of all ages and walks of life with a passion for the arts. Artful Women is dedicated to exploring current issues in a format that will enrich, inspire, educate and entertain the community. Artful Women is proudly sponsored by the Northwest Herald.

The 750-seat theatre, located in downtown Crystal Lake, is a gathering place for our region's citizens and has become a true destination.
