Raue Center Announces Appointment of New Board Member

Raue Center For The Arts is pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Olavarría to the Board of Directors. Olavarría is a communications and public affairs executive with more than

20 years of experience managing media relations, employee and corporate communications, community relations and government affairs.

Olavarría is currently the corporate affairs manager for ComEd, where she works on developing, planning and executing on legislative, regulatory and external affairs projects in partnership with cross company departments and external stakeholders. Olavarría has previously worked for both government and Fortune 500 corporations including NRG Energy, Edison International, BP, Nabisco Corporation, the City of Chicago Department of Streets and Sanitation and Chicago Public Schools.

Olavarría is a former member of the Illinois Women's Business Ownership Council and she has served as a board member for Aspira of Illinois, the Chicago Children's Advocacy Center and the Chicago Community Trust Latino Giving Center.

Olavarría has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Columbia College Chicago and an Executive MBA from the University of Notre Dame. She currently resides in the Crystal Lake area with her husband and two daughters.
