Quest Theatre Ensemble presents the world premiere musical, The People's Passion Play, which chronicles the creation of the universe and key Biblical events through the Passion and Resurrection. The musical is written by award-winning, Chicago-based Playwright/Director/Puppeteer Andrew Park with original music by Scott Lamps. Performances run Feb. 22 through March 31st at the Blue Theater located at 1609 West Gregory (one block south of Bryn Mawr and Ashland). Follow a folk trio on an entertaining, humorous and ultimately moving journey through time as they belt old hymns, spirituals and folk tunes in the great American tradition. Quest Ensemble member and playwright Andrew Park sees the production as both timely and accessible. Park said, "The People's Passion Play can only matter if is relevant to our current lives. In the past, Passion plays have connected people to a shared, spiritual past, and they've invited folks to consider their present political circumstances. The People's Passion Play is a celebration of how we have come together historically and suggests how we could come together today. "

The People's Passion Play is directed by Quest Theatre Ensemble Member James T. Scott III with scenic design by Quest Ensemble Member Nick Rupard, puppetry design by Quest Ensemble Members Nick Rupard and Luke Verkamp, musical direction by Tobi Mattingly, scenic art by Quest Ensemble Member Julie Taylor, lighting design by Tommy Nolan, costume design by Staci Weigum, sound design by Travis Karpak, production management by Jason Bowen and stage management by Mark Abrahamson.
